You are a trainee or junior druid. When the game starts out, you are undergoing an initiation
ceremony to become a true druid. The old man Drew, the tribe's most powerful druid, asks
whether you are ready to face the trials. You assure him that you are. He then gives you a goblet of
murky purple ooze. When you drink it, your mind goes black and you awake in a strange land of fire
and ice.
Your objective is to find the rune of power and use it to return to your tribe. However, it also
needs a second item and this item determines your destiny. You find the second item by talking to
the animals and giving them a treasure. There are three different endings as follows:
- Give the silver coins to the owl to get a feather and gain wisdom.
- Give the golden mask to the stag to get a horn and gain righteousness.
- Give the precious gems to the scorpion to get a stinger and gain deceit.
There doesn't appear to be a "correct" solution. In the solution below, I show you
how to find all the treasures, but you can only get one of the second items, so the solution
branches to show you how to get each one. The end game depends on which of the second items you have
with you at the end.
You'll need to EXAMINE everything in this game. Most of the responses are just for colour, but
they sometimes include subtle hints, so subtle that you may not even realise that they are hints.
Some optional (but significant) commands are shown in parentheses. These can be omitted once you
know what to do.
